Hi! I am Megan Hogue and I am a history teacher at Oak Grove High School. I have not always valued fitness or exercise in my life. Up until about seven years ago, I was incredibly overweight, and did not enjoy or find the importance in exercise or taking care of my body. I finally got frustrated with being tired all the time, never having energy, and being on the sidelines. I decided to attend my first workout classes at Temple. A year and a half later, I had lost around 100 pounds, and fell in love with exercise and taking care of my body. I started to understand that to be my best spiritual self, I needed to be my best physical self. In order to work for Christ Kingdom, and do what he called me to do, I need to take care of my body. Eventually, I shadowed another coach, Danya, who also happens to be my mom, and I took on teaching some classes of my own. I love exercise, I love how it makes my body strong and gives me energy and strength for what life throws at us. I love honoring Christ through taking care of my body, and find joy and fulfillment in encouraging others to be their best self! I am CPR/AED certified and am studying to obtain a group exercise certification with the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) to be completed in February.
