Below are the five divisions for this year’s tournament. Take a moment to review each one and find the best fit for your skill level. You’ll officially select your division when you complete the registration form at the bottom of the page.
Just starting to play.
Minimal knowledge of rules or gameplay.
Not confident with any shot type.
Has no other sports background.
Looking to learn, grow, and have fun.
Beginners (1.0 - 1.5)
Starting to get the hang of it—can sustain short rallies.
May avoid using shots like a backhand
Can hit medium paced shots that lack directional intent and consistency.
Working on consistent serving and returning.
Makes a few “oops” moments often throughout the game.
Confidence is sprouting—even if the shots don’t always land.
Novice (2.0 - 2.5)
Comfortable with gameplay and rules.
Moderately controls all shot types with some strategy involved.
Serves are consistent with varying placement.
Able to volley medium paces shots with control.
Has an “oops” moment every now and then
Can sustain short-medium length rallies.
Intermediate (3.0 - 3.5)
All shot types display a high level of consistency.
Adjusts pace, knows when to play soft or aggressive.
Understands partner communication and positioning well.
Reads the game, anticipates plays, and exploits weaknesses.
May have played/placed in competitive tournaments or leagues.
