James McCarthy
Hey y’all! I’m James McCarthy, born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. I graduated from Oak Grove High School in 2009, where I met my wife and began attending Temple Baptist Church, both of which continue to shape my life today.
I’m a proud father of two: my daughter, who attends William Carey, and my son, who is autistic and is in the 5th grade. He teaches me every day the true meaning of patience, consistency, and resilience; values I bring into my training.
Living with sickle cell has given me a unique perspective on health and fitness. I understand firsthand how important exercise is, not just for performance, but for managing pain and improving quality of life. Fitness has always been a part of who I am, with basketball being my first passion.
I started my journey by training kids in basketball drills, which naturally grew into strength and agility training. That passion led me to earn my personal training certification, and my goal is to work with clients of all ages and fitness levels. My approach is simple: meet people where they are and build a plan that fits their individual needs and goals.
I genuinely enjoy connecting with people, and I believe fitness is one of the best ways to do that; helping others grow stronger physically and mentally.
